  祝愿为中华民族复兴而奋战在前线的克钦独立军官兵新年好，祝生活在景颇大地上的各族人民新年好，祝全国各族人民新年好！

          历史上，景颇大地就是中华帝国的一部分。20世纪初期，由于英国殖民者的介入，景颇大地分成了三个部分，一部分成为英属缅甸的克钦邦，一部分在今印度境内阿萨姆地区，还有一部分至今仍是中国领土。1946年，在英国殖民者的操作下，包括克钦邦在内的缅甸各邦共同组建成缅甸联邦共和国。在稍后的1950年代，中国境内的景颇土地上，也成立了德宏傣族景颇族自治区，景颇人自己做主人。
     为什么景颇人也被称为克钦人，这是历史上的一个误会。在19世纪，西方传教士从印度阿萨姆邦进入景颇大地，问当地的一个景颇大山官，你们是什么人？这个山官误以为是问他自己是什么人，于是回答说他是KaKye Du（意为红土地上的官）。这位西方传教士就以为KaKye是整个民族的名称，就开始用英文Kachin来称呼景颇人，从此，国际上就一直称景颇人为Kachin(克钦)人。KaKye山官家到现在还存在。
          英国殖民者把景颇人的土地也开始称为Kachinland,缅甸联邦建立之后，克钦人所在的土地也成为Kachin State,即克钦邦或者克钦（景颇）共和国，与掸邦共和国等7个邦一起组成缅甸联邦共和国。在缅甸联邦共和国建立之前，景颇人从来没有被缅人统治过，历史以来拥有高度的民族自主权。
    1962年缅甸军政府上台独裁以后，对各民族自治邦实行民族压迫，从经济上和文化上都限制民族地区的发展。克钦邦和掸邦各邦都希望恢复联邦共和国体制，为此展开了轰轰烈烈的十年民族战争，希望用军事手段来实现民族的复兴诉求。因为在军政府的独裁统治之下，克钦人民得不到任何发展机会。
    在克钦邦境内，以克钦人为主体的克钦独立军英勇奋战，以武装抗击缅甸军政府独裁统治，以求得民族的解放和领土主权的完整。景颇大地是中华帝国的一部分，克钦（景颇）人民的发展便是中华民族大家庭的发展。克钦独立军不止为克钦人而战，也为生活在克钦（景颇）大地上的所有民族而战。
   在新年来临之际，景颇大地委员会祝愿为中华民族复兴而奋战在前线的克钦独立军官兵新年好，祝生活在景颇大地上的各族人民新年好，祝全国各族人民新年好！祝世界爱好和平的各民族新年好！在新的一年里，在世界各民族爱好和平的人民的帮助下让景颇大地走向和平、走向世界，让世界走进景颇大地！
      
  Historically, jinghpawland consisted part of Imperial China.  Early in 20^th Century, due to involvement by the British colonists, jinghpawland was divided into three: Kachin State of the British Burma, Assam Region of current India, and a Chinese territory up till this day.  In 1946, British colonists integrated all Burmese states, including Kachin State, into the Republic of the Union of Burma.  In the ensuing 1950s, Dehong Autonomous Region of Thai and Jinghpaw was established in Chinese territory, where Jinghpaw people enjoy autonomy.
         Why the people of Jinghpaw have also been called Kachins?  It results from a historic mistake.  In 19^th Century, western missionaries entered jinghpawland through Assam State of India.  As they encountered with a Jinghpaw chife they asked him what he is. This chife thought they were asking what he does, so he told them that he is a “KaKye Du” (meaning, an official on the red territory).  The western missionary mistook “KaKye” for the name of the whole nation, so he called the people of Jinghpaw “Kachins”.  The outside world followed him.  The house of KaKye chife still exists today.
    Also, the British colonists designated the land of Jinghpaw as “KachinLand”, aka Kachin State.  Until the establishment of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Kachins have never been ruled by the Burmese.
       Since the military junta seized dictatorship in Myanmar in 1962, minorities have been oppressed economically and culturally.  Kachin State and Shan State wish to redeem a federal republic thus started a decade of war, in hope of a renaissance of their nation.  Under the dictatorship of the military junta, Kachin people can develop by no means.
Inside the boundaries of Kachin State, the Kachin Independence Army, mainly consisted of Kachins, has been resisting the dictatorship of the military junta in Myanmar through armed confrontation.  The Kachin Independence Army fights not only for the Kachin people but also for all nations on jinghpawland.
On the observance of the looming new yea, the jinghpawland Committee presents its best greetings to the Kachin Independence Army, who are fighting frontiers for the renaissance of the Chinese people, presents its best greetings to all nations that inhabit jinghpawland, presents its best greetings to all nations of this country!
